Settle Down Dance: Workshop with James Wilton Dance.

This February our Ernesettle based youth group ‘Settle Down Dance’ were lucky enough to have a workshop with James Wilton Dance. They were joined by Sarah and James from the company, who delivered technique, creative tasks and a performance for the young people. Matt from Fotonow also joined the session and took some lovely images for us.

The class began with a fun warm up, moving around the space using challenging tasks. A technique class followed, and the dancers were challenged to learn exciting new phrases.

“James Wilton came to teach us a couple of different techniques, it was great! The experience has stuck in my head.” – Settle Down Dancer

The session ended with James and Sarah performing a duet from ‘Last Man Standing’. This was also performed at Plymouth’s ‘Dance in the City’ event as part of UDance 2015. The dancers had a really great time learning, performing and watching new work, and left the session feeling inspired. Big thanks to James Wilton Dance!
