What a jammed packed three months its been for both ADAPT Youth Company and Space Shot Youth Dance.
ADAPT Youth Dance Company
ADAPT runs weekly on a Friday in term time at Plymouth School of Creative Arts between 4:30pm – 6:30pm. We currently have nine dancers in the youth company at present. The group have had an extremely exciting year so far! kicking of the year the group performed at U.Dance 2016 regionals in Bath after being successful with their application.The dancers were absolutely thrilled to be part of the event and felt truly privileged. The group have recently taken part in Dance Machine competition that took place at The Duke of Cornwall which was great fun. All the dancers received medals which they were super pleased about. ADAPT were the guest performance last week at Plymouth Volunteering Awards held at Roland Levinsky Theatre. We would like to say a huge thank you to Plymouth Guild, Plymouth Herald and Plymouth Volunteers for allowing the oppurtunity. It was a fantastic evening and a really inspiring evening overall. The groups are really looking forward to be showcasing ‘This is Us‘ at Funky Llama Festival on the 11th June and cant wait to watch all the other performances and join in with the workshops on offer. ADAPT will finish the summer term by performing at Hall For Cornwall Presents community platform on the 26th July organised by Helen Tiplady. Exim are always on the search for new dancers to join the group both with and without disabilities. Space Shot Youth Dance
Space Shot Youth Dance takes place Wednesday evenings 6pm – 8pm at St Aidans Church in Ernesettle. The group has been together for just over 18 months and currently has nineteen dancers involved in the group. They are going from strenth to strength in delevoping in a variety of contemporary techniques and performance skills. The group had James Wilton Dance in to teach a twohour workshop in Febuary and James and Sarah delivered a special performance to the dancers. The group were completely blown away. Space Shot Youth Dance were involved in Dance Machines competition and loved watching all the other fantastic dance pieces. The group are just about to start undertaking their Dance Leadership Level One.
The group have just finished making a dance film with the wonderful Fotonow. The group are in the processing of developing two new dance pieces for the Ernefest Festival taking place in September.
