Happy New Year from Exim Dance Company


With 2017 fast approaching, Exim wanted to say a huge thank you for the continued support throughout 2017. Heres just a few of our favourite highlights of the year! 2016 has been a wonderful positive year and we couldn’t have done it without you.


Exim performed for the second year in a row at Resolutions 2016 | The Place presenting ‘The Birth of Memory’ choreographed by Adam Benjamin                                                                       “Birth of Memory was ….spellbinding and moving; a courageous piece – Marla Bishop (Resolutions audience member)


James Wilton Dance delivered a workshop to Barefoot funded Space Shot Youth Company in Ernesettle. James and Sarah performed an excerpt of a duet to the young people. It’s an experience the dancers will never forget!


ADAPT Youth Company performed ‘This is Us’ at U.Dance Bath Regionals. The group had a fantastic time and loved joining in with the workshops on offer and watching all the other dance performances.

Exim was awarded a Challenge Fund by Real Ideas Organisation to run a three year project in partnership with Plymouth University,Devon Community Outreach Network,Plymouth College of Art and Marjons to promote Dance in Higher Education. We are providing dance workshops throughout the Southwest and have set up a weekly outreach class at Plymouth University for young people 14 +.


Exim Youth Dancers were apart of Annual Dance Festival held at Duke of Cornwall


ADAPT Youth Company were asked to be a guest performance at                Plymouth Inspiring Awards evening.

Exim Delivered workshops to 357 young international students that were attending Suzanne Sparrow Plymouth Language School


Exim were granted funding from Arts Council England to create a new  work that would commence touring from 2016. The creative team went  into the studio  for the research and development period for three weeks in August.


Exim’s latest touring work Etch kicked of its UK tour end of September. The work premiered at Cygnet Theatre Exeter and will be touring till late 2017. For tour information check out our website


Exim dance practitioners delivered a series of workshops in Cheltenham to National Star Centre and GDance in preparation to our performance at National Star College in October. 


5 years ago Exim Dance Company CIC  was officially formed. Here are a few images we love that really represent the company and where we are now!

December was a month full of Christmas performances to parents, funders, schools and colleges.
