Anna Jurek is young contemporary mover from Poland. She is interested in creating space and energy in and between different beings.

She was born and grown up in Poznań. Now she lives in Austria where she continues dance development on Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität. She graduated two bachelor degrees in her hometown. The first one from Dance Composition [University of Social Science] and second from Social Policy [University of Economy]. Early stage experience she gained in theater as cooperation with Grzegorz Chołuj – FlowArtCreation. In the beginning of dance development she tried folklore style, hip hop and ballroom. But few years ago she found her place in contemporary art and that is where she had anchored till now. Except for higher education she was expanding her movement language during traveling around her home country and the world. She has got experience in such techniques as: physical dance, release, modern dance, classical ballet, BMC, contact improvisation, capoeira, flying low, passing through, improvisation and GAGA. Furthermore she also took an internship in ROZBARK Dance and Movement Theatre in Bytom. From 2014 she is a member of STW Company – Natalia Draganik-Franke. She had an opportunity to participate in performances choreographed by Natalia Draganik, Natalia Iwaniec and Maciej Kuźmiński. Among all works that she has been involved as a dancer, she also worked on her own creation as a solo performer and member of independent collective [„ |lluF” and „On the plate”]. Latest piece she worked on was leaded by Jason Jacobs and Regina van Berkel and Bruno Genty.

During season 2015/2016 she was leading the project with mentally disabled people in cooperation with “ISKRA” disabled association.

Her dance pathway is trying out how to use dance motion as social and art tool.

I am really interested in our first set of research. After a beautiful audition weekend leaded by Adam Benjamin, I were full of positive energy. What I can definitely say, is that I do not have any idea in which direction we will go. Our last cooperation was so rich that it is hard to predict the process. I can not wait to finally meet with all crew and let it happen.
